Review and Giveaway: Flirting With Love by Melissa Foster

Flirting With Love
The Bradens # 10
By: Melissa Foster
Releasing December 15th, 2014

Blurb
FLIRTING WITH LOVE is the newest addition to the BRADEN series by New York Times & USA Today bestselling and award-winning author Melissa Foster. This contemporary romance series features alpha male heroes and sexy, empowered women. They’re flawed, funny, passionate, and very relatable to readers who enjoy new adult romance, contemporary romance, and women’s fiction.

IN FLIRTING WITH LOVE…

Elisabeth Nash has spent years dreaming of returning to the small town of Trusty, Colorado, where she spent summers with her favorite aunt. When she inherits her aunt’s farmette, she closes her Los Angeles pet bakery and pampering business, sure that life in Trusty will be as peaceful and as welcoming as she remembers. But being an outsider in the close-knit town proves to be very different from the happy summers she remembers from her childhood—and falling for Trusty’s hot, wealthy, and sinfully irresistible veterinarian, Ross Braden, sends the rumor mill into a frenzy.

Ross Braden learned long ago that gossip spreads faster than weeds in his small hometown, and Ross loves nothing more than his privacy.  For that reason, he doesn’t date women who live in Trusty. But that was before blond, beautiful, and refreshingly honest Elisabeth Nash flew into his vet clinic seeking help for her panicked piglet and turned his comfortable life—and his heart—inside out.

Despite rumors about Elisabeth’s motives toward her aunt’s property, passion brews between Elisabeth and Ross. Every steamy kiss and every sensual touch brings the pair closer together, and when Ross helps Elisabeth try to fit into the town he adores, it makes their bond even stronger. But even Elisabeth’s efforts toward reaching the community, and the love she and Ross so desperately believe in, might not be enough for the protective small town to offer them a future.

Laura's Review:
Melissa Foster is one of those authors who has an effortless consistency about her work that just makes all of her books a joy to read. I have yet to read anything by her that wasn't good. Flirting With Love is no exception. A sweet love story featuring one of my favorite types of "hero" - a veterinarian. Animal lovers in general just warm my heart and have me falling every time. It took a little bit of time for the "action" to start in this one, but it was so worth the wait. A good-natured, heart-warming tale that readers will love!

Flirting With Love: 4/5 stars

No Weddings:
Award-winning author Kat Bastion teams with her husband, Stone Bastion, in this first book in the No Weddings Series about Cade Michaelson, a successful man with his sights set on a new venture in business, and Hannah Martin, the woman who makes it personal.
I think I have my act together as a successful bar owner, my master’s degree within reach, and a list of no-strings-attached women warming my bed. Turns out, I don’t.
Hannah believes she has safeguarded her wounded heart by shunning men and focusing on her new baking business. The thing is, she hasn’t.
When my three sisters and I form an event-planning business with Hannah as our baker, I have no idea how my life is about to change. As Hannah and I work closely together, the attraction between us becomes irresistible. And complicated. I’ve promised my sisters I wouldn’t mix business with pleasure. But I’ve never been one to follow the rules.

One Funeral:
Chosen by FreshFiction.com as their Fresh Pick for October 7, 2014

The stakes climb higher in this second book in the No Weddings Series for Hannah Martin, a woman restrained by her past, and Cade Michaelson, the man who could help set her free.

I’m drawn to Cade as he charms his way into more of my life and offers me something I truly haven’t ever had: a friend. Yet his humor, patience, and drop-dead sexiness take my breath away, and I know my heart is at risk. I want to move forward but am terrified I can’t.

Cade seems to have it together from his own devastating heartache. His subtle actions, however, suggest a different story. And even though he says he wants more, I wonder if he’s able to trust in our developing relationship.

As we navigate through our tangled feelings, we vow to take it slow. Yet no matter how careful we try to be, things between us intensify—and there’s nothing we can do, or want to do, to stop it.

But the biggest question remains: Is chemistry enough to move beyond the past and toward a future together?

Two Bar Mitzvahs:
Summer heats up in this third book in the No Weddings Series, where Cade Michaelson strives to balance his and Hannah Martin’s new relationship with the growing demands of his financial success.
Waiting for Hannah has been the best and worst kind of torture. Now I can claim her as mine. We believe we’re done with the past and can move forward together.

Hannah grows stronger than ever as she trusts in me—trusts in us. And when obstacles appear, she shows a surprising fierceness that rivals my own.

However, all is not perfect in paradise. Things get chaotic while I try to juggle multiple businesses, an ex from hell, and a girlfriend I’d do anything to keep. And in the middle of the whirlwind, I recklessly think I can handle
everything
.

But when all the madness is over, will I have everything I want—will I still have Hannah?

Excerpt:

Cade and Hannah have fun while camping in TWO BAR MITZVAHS…

“So now what? Do we plunge our forks into the flames in a virgin marshmallow sacrifice ritual?”
Her eyes gleamed. “Nope. We edge them closer, holding them into the heat and away from the flames. The key is to get them to their smoke point and then watch them burst into flames.”
I huffed out a laugh, shaking my head. “Woman, you never cease to fascinate me.”
And so, safe in our campsite in the middle of the Pocono Mountains, beside the only person in the world I wanted to be with, we watched our poor innocent marshmallows give up tendrils of smoke in surrender right before they burst into flames.
The orange glow consumed the entire surface for a few seconds before Hannah leaned forward. “Now! Blow it out.”
Thoroughly intrigued, I did as commanded, resulting in two blackened crisps on the ends of my fork. She continued to blow on hers, and I did the same, but my gaze was locked onto those luscious lips as they puckered with a little hole in the center.
My dick twitched at the incredible image, my mind helplessly guttering. Yeah, I imagined sliding serious wood in there before the night was over. (I’m a guy; we go there. Not gonna feel guilty about it.)
Her fingertips tapped the crisp surface to test its heat. Nodding, she pulled the burnt blob off the end and popped it into her mouth. She moaned as her eyes rolled back.
I sighed, glancing at my unappetizing mess, then back at her. “That good, huh?”
She nodded, moving her jaw around as she mashed it in her closed mouth.
I took a fortifying breath. “Okay, here goes nothing.” I plucked one torched lump off of my fork and tossed it whole into my mouth. I lifted my brows, enjoying the surprising flavor before swallowing. It was good in an odd way. “Not bad. Much better than burnt hot dog.”
Her easy laugh rang out. “There’s something about the burnt part that makes all that sickeningly sweet palatable. It’s the only way I’ll ever eat a marshmallow. Totally hate Peeps.” She scrunched her nose and pulled her head back, shaking it.
I snorted. “Got it. No Peeps in the Easter basket.”
Our camping had been intended as something fun and intimate, which it was. But I’d never expected all the little things I’d learn about her.
She leaned over to the cooler and flipped up the lid. “Want a beer?”
“Absolutely. Beer goes with everything. Even burnt marshmallow.”
She handed me two Fat Tires and a bottle opener.
I glanced beyond her at the grocery bag sitting next to the cooler. “What else you got there?” I popped the last ash-covered marshmallow into my mouth.
Crinkling followed as she leaned over, digging in the bag, then pulled out a package of Double Stuf Oreos.
I raised my arms out. “Of course. We’re hitting all the major junk food groups.”
She held up the sad excuse for hot dogs. “Protein.”
I pointed at her remaining marshmallow. “Fruit.”
Tilting her head, she stared at it. “It’s a root that grows in the ground. We’ll allow it.”
“Carb.” I nodded to the Oreos.
She snorted. “‘Carb’ is not a food group. We can call Oreos a grain.” She paused. “And veggie. We got it covered.”
I coughed. “Wait. What’s the veggie?”
“Your beer.”
I shook my head. “It’s made with hops, Maestro. That’s a grain.”
She scowled. “Close enough.”
After a minute of staring into the flames, she leaned far back. “Damn. That fire’s getting hot. It’s gonna melt the soles of my tennis shoes.”
It was getting hot. I leaned back too. Her sudden movement caught my eye, and I blinked as Hannah tugged her shirt over her head. “What are you doing?”
Turning my way, she stood, a wicked smile curving her lips as she took careful steps backward. “I’m getting undressed. What does it look like I’m doing?” She pulled the hair tie from her head, sending the ends of her hair down to just above her black-lace-covered breasts.
“Shit!” I jumped up from the log but stood there, unmoving, torn between stalking her down and putting out the blaze we’d created with plenty of firewood. Protective instincts won out (which I hoped to be thoroughly rewarded for), and I rushed over to the small folding shovel, then scooped dirt onto the fire.
“Be right there.” I glanced over my shoulder right as something lacy flew out of the tent opening. My nostrils flared as I imagined all the skin being bared in my absence. “Feel free to start without me.”
“Oh, I am…”

Blurb

A sexy category romance from Entangled's Brazen imprint...

She'll teach him the art of seduction one play at a time...

Publicist Aubrey Cooper never should have crossed the line. After all, pro football player Flynn Foley is her client. But something about this mouth-wateringly-hot, clean-cut athlete makes Aubrey imagine all kinds of X-rated fantasies. And it only takes one game-changing play―and one night―to turn the tables from strictly business to very, very personal…

Flynn has maintained a no-sexy-distractions policy for his entire pro career. Aubrey is exactly the kind of distraction he was trying to avoid, and she's the one he can't resist. When the media catches wind of their naughty little liaison, however, Aubrey's boss steps in to make them an official couple. What Flynn doesn't know is that Aubrey is forced to fake the relationship―or lose her job. Now Aubrey must hide the truth…even as she begins to fall for Flynn.

Excerpt
Aubrey cracked open her eyes, studying him like he’d lost his mind. Which he sort of had—over her. He kissed her again before she could say a word, losing himself in her sweet lips, the soft little moans sounding low in her throat.

He liked sex. And he liked the woman in his arms plenty. So much, that he’d kept her at arm’s length for months for fear of falling hard for her and ruining his concentration. Besides, he wasn’t much of a rule breaker, damn it. If it was against company policy to date a fellow employee, then he wasn’t going to do it.

But screw it. He felt as if everything was uncertain right now, up in the air, unconfirmed. Walsh wasn’t talking—at least he wasn’t talking enough. The conversation they’d had before Aubrey had interrupted them had been full of nothing but a bunch of crap. Coach had acted downright evasive.

The vibe he was getting from his coach? He didn’t like it. At all.

He was tired of worrying about things that were out of his control. What was the big deal if he kissed Aubrey anyway? Maybe he could work her out of his system. Maybe kissing her wouldn’t be all that special and he could walk away from this.

Ha. Tell that to his overheated, turned-inside-out body. Flynn broke away from Aubrey’s lips to catch some air, though really, he wanted to look at her, memorize this moment when he’d first kissed Aubrey. Even in the dim light, he could see her lips were swollen, her cheeks flushed. She opened her eyes, the dazed look in them sending an arrow of arousal shooting straight through him, making his cock twitch. Pride suffused him. He put that look on her face.

“Flynn.” She pursed her lips, exhaling softly, the sound shaky. “What in the world was that?”

He smiled. She was a bundle of nerves, his publicist.  Always running around, a little manic, a lot frantic, riding his ass to do this, do that. She’d been harder on Hamilton, but that crazy guy needed someone to rein him in most of the time.

“I thought it was a kiss? Unless I’m doing it wrong…” A chuckle escaped him, and he hoped she was in on the joke.

“No. You were definitely not doing it wrong.” She blew out a trembling breath, her gaze cautious. “I just want to make sure we’re both on the same page.”

“Well, I’m pretty sure we’re on the same page.” Leaning in, he nuzzled her cheek with his, kissing a soft path along her fragrant skin until his mouth was on hers once more. “A shame you didn’t recognize it.”

She smiled against his lips, her fingers tightening in his hair. “I just thought…”

“Thinking gets you nowhere,” he whispered just before he took the kiss deeper, his tongue thrusting, his mouth devouring. She was a thinker, which meant she set her brain to smoking more often than not. And he wanted her feeling, not thinking or worrying.

He gripped her hips with both hands and pulled her in, wanting her as close as he could get her. This…thing between them had been brewing for a while, torturing him. She’d been by his side almost constantly the past few months, guiding his career, carefully preserving his image.

Every time he was with her, the scent of her hair drove him wild. The way he caught her looking at him, her gaze hungry, her lips damp, echoed an answering call deep within him.

Blog Tour and Giveaway:Until You Find Me by Amber Hart

Until You Find Me
Until You Find Me # 1
By: Amber Hart
Releasing November 11th, 2014
Loveswept: Flirt

Blurb
Amber Hart pushes contemporary romance to its wildest limits in this heart-pounding novel, the story of a girl who travels to Africa to protect the legacy of one man . . . and stays for the love of another.

Raven Moore, a twenty-year-old college student from Michigan, feels out of place in the beautiful, treacherous jungles of Cameroon, staying in the habitat where her father gave his life to help protect endangered gorillas. He left home years ago; now Raven refuses to return home until she unravels the truth about his last days.

Raven certainly doesn’t count on crossing paths with a handsome young hunter—especially one as charismatic and intense as Jospin Tondjii. Instantly, she’s hooked. But Jospin is hiding a dark truth: He is the heir to a powerful poaching empire, part of a ruthless black market that is responsible for the dwindling gorilla population.

Their fathers may have been enemies, but Raven and Jospin forge a bond that goes beyond blood, a relationship that is tested as Raven draws closer to the source of her father’s death. Can she and Jospin bear the weight of the secrets of the wild—and the secrets of their pasts? Or will the rain forest destroy them both?

Advance praise for Until You Find Me

“If you think the jungle is hot and dangerous, wait until you meet Jospin. He and Raven turn up the heat to scorching and burn the jungle down!”—Lisa Desrochers, USA Today bestselling author of A Little Too Far

“A beautiful, unconventional story that takes you to the jungles of Africa to fall in love, Until You Find Me contains the perfect balance of angst, thrills, and page-turning appeal.”—K.A. Tucker, USA Today bestselling author of Ten Tiny Breaths

“Wonderfully unique and utterly unputdownable, Until You Find Me is a breath of fresh air. Each page is sexier than the one before.”—Lauren Layne, author of Isn’t She Lovely

Excerpt  (From Chapter Three):

I need answers, I remind myself.
Chloe, one of the habitat workers—the one who tranquilized the ape that nearly killed me—approaches me with a smile. Waves of brown hair stop just below her shoulders. There’s a clipboard in her hand.
“Welcome back, Raven,” she says, and reaches toward my hospital bag.
“I can get it,” I say, hoisting the bag off the ground for emphasis.
The effort is five thousand points of pain, lighting me up. I very nearly lose my grip, even though I’m using my uninjured arm.
“Are you okay?” she asks.
I wonder if my expression shows the pain I feel. The bag isn’t big—only a toothbrush and some clothes—but it feels heavy. Maybe because my muscles are weak and still healing.
“I’m fine,” I reply.
Chloe glances at my injured arm. “Do you need anything else? I can wash your clothes or—”
“I’m fine,” I repeat.
I’m not, really. I’m angry that my arm will never be the same.
“Well, maybe I’ll see you for dinner tonight?” she asks.
Probably not. “Maybe,” I say.
Truth is my biggest demon. It stings the most. It whispers its victories in my ear.
Your dad left you for filthy, wretched creatures.
You’re a fool for coming here.
Look at you now, ugly, so ugly.
You are lost, lost, lost.
Then pain chimes in.
Peekaboo, I found you.
Chloe walks away. I’m not sad to see her go.
Only when I reach my room do I allow myself to collapse. I will show weakness to no one. My face presses into the brown sheets on the twin bed.
My room is the only thing I like here. It’s small. There’s no desk. No dresser. No TV. My clothes and toiletries sit atop shelves built into the wall. One window opens up to the forest. I lift it now, and branches stretch into my room like limbs—I’m practically living in a tree house—but the effort makes me want to vomit. I close my eyes and count to five. Concentrate on shoving away the pain.
The doctors say it’ll take months to heal. And even then there’s no guarantee how well my arm will work. I’m not sure how to use an arm that’s composed of metal plates and screws and shattered bone fragments that they promise will eventually fuse.
I open my eyes again, and the first thing I see is a bird with wings the color of emeralds.
I’m struck by inspiration.
The fingers of my good hand reach for my paints and a canvas. I find a water bottle in my bag and wet my brush. I begin to outline. First its feathers, tucked and pointed. Then its head, eyes, and feet. I paint fast, fearful that it’ll fly away.
It perches on my windowsill. A jewel reflecting light.
I’m curious about its eyes.
How much does it see?
How much does it know?
When the painting is complete, the bird quickly pecks at a bug on the ledge and then flies away. I am jealous to see it go. Flying, flying, flying.
Free.
My right hand is smudged with paint. My left hand is bound by a sling. I’m lucky it wasn’t my other hand. At least I can still paint.
