Description:
A big-city, high-powered advertising executive and a small-town firefighter learn that no matter where you started or what you’ve lost, if you open your heart, you can find joy and love again. WILD IRIS RIDGE is the latest book inUSA TODAY bestselling author RaeAnne Thayne’s charming Hope’s Crossing series.
Lucy Drake and Brendan Caine have only one thing in common. And it's likely to tear them apart. Because it was Brendan's late wife, Jessie—and Lucy's best friend—who'd brought them together in the first place. And since Jesse's passing, Brendan's been distracted by his two little ones…and the memory of an explosive kiss with Lucy years before his marriage. Still, he'll steer clear of her. She's always been trouble with a capital T.
Lucy couldn't wait to shed her small-town roots for the big city. But now that she's back in Hope's Crossing to take care of the Queen Anne home her late aunt has left her, she figures seeing Brendan Caine again is no big deal. After all, she'd managed to resist the handsome fire chief once before, but clearly the embers of their attraction are still smoldering…

Laura's Review
It's fitting that Debbie Macomber has the quote on the front - because this book would be right at home on the shelf of any of her fans. A sweet, second-chance romance in a small town setting where everyone knows everyone and everything is in walking distance - Ms. Thayne has created a beautiful, quaint town full of romance with Hope's Crossing. I jumped into this last book of the series without having read the previous ones, but I didn't feel lost, and loved the glimpses of the characters from previous books. You immediately feel for Lucy and the bad hand she's been dealt in life, but any villain is only spoken of and the town is more than supportive of her. Brendan was the picture perfect dad and small town fire chief, and despite the lack of any truly steamy moments, still very sexy in a tug-at-your heartstrings kind of way. There were moments that seemed a bit too convenient, but not so much that they distracted from the story. A great finish to what I can only imagine is a great series - one that I'm sure to go back to the start and finish them all.

Wild Iris Ridge: 4/5 stars.

Note: I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange of an honest review.

  1. I've always liked second-chance romances because I am the recipient of one! I finally had a chance at happiness in life when I met the most wonderful husband in the world the second time around. I'm also a fan of small towns because I grew up in one. Great value in this kind of story...all around! Thanks for the tour and this post. jdh2690@gmail.com
