She sacrificed everything to keep him safe…
Five years ago, con artist Lisa Smith broke the first rule of hustling when she fell in love with—and married—her mark, billionaire Sawyer Hayes. The erotic nights spent acting out her darkest fantasies with her husband and Master were the happiest of her life. But when her ruthless father demanded she kill him and take his money, she had no choice but to disappear without a trace…or lose him forever.

He’ll risk everything to have her again…
Now Sawyer has found her, and he has an indecent proposal: submit to him for seven nights and he’ll grant her the divorce she desires. Forced to pretend she no longer loves him, each night spent in his arms is exquisite torture as they reignite their intense passion through role play and ménage. But when a deranged killer out for revenge targets Lisa, she must finally trust Sawyer with the secrets of her past…or neither of them will live to see the future.

Warning: Scenes depicting BDSM, fisting, MMFMM, consensual non-consent, and references to abuse

Laura's Review:

Having never read anything by Shelly Bell before, including the first 3 books in this series, I wasn't sure what to expect. The blurb pulled me in, and the story did the rest.  There could have been a little more development of Sawyer and Lisa's actual relationship - it seemed to be all or nothing there. But, between the suspenseful plot and the intense sex scenes, the book had my attention from start to finish. I guessed the ending, but it was twisted enough that I didn't see everything coming.

Entangled (Embrace)
300 pages

Synopsis (from Goodreads):

I can’t stop wanting her…

Bri Welch likes to play it safe. I don’t. She’s wound tight, and I’m all about a good party. But there’s something about her that makes me want to pull those uptight layers away one-by-delicious-one. But the worst thing is she makes me want more…

Laura's Review:

If someone ever asks you for an example of the New Adult genre, this one is perfect. Which is a good and bad thing - it had the typical young, flirty, fun love in it; but the main characters were both a little too immature to have  me believing this love will last forever. It started out strong with banter and a fair amount of sexual tension, but became a little predictable by the end.  If you're okay with that and just want to enjoy the romance of the story, this was a nice, quick read.

Wanting More: 3/5 stars

One phone call changed me.
Three simple words and I was shattered.
Damaged.
Broken.
Alone.
So I started over.
And my journey of rediscovery led me straight into his arms.
Chase Porter.
The stranger who showed me life from a different perspective.
But we both had secrets…
His would destroy my world.
through her eyes teaser 3.jpg

Prologue
I was a horrible person.
        Truly.
But I had goals, and he didn’t fit into them.
I didn’t know how to take back the words I’d said. They filtered through my brain like a bad dream that I just couldn’t awaken from. Just when they started to slowly slip away, they resurfaced. Rooted so deeply in my psyche, there was really no place for them to hide.
If only I’d known the ramifications of my actions. If only I’d known how my decisions would hurt me beyond repair.
But at the time, I couldn’t let him halt my progress. I was so close . . .
“Are you in love with me, Aria? Do you want to be with me?” Parker asked, and my heart completely stopped. I had waited so long to hear those words, for him to see me as more than a friend.
“No. I don’t want to be with you,” I replied. Even as the words left my mouth, I knew they were a lie.
I didn’t just love him. It was so much more than that. So much more than love. He was my rock, my friend. He was the lifeline that ran through me.
At the time, I thought I had no choice . . . I thought he would be able to see that after everything I’d been through I needed to succeed. I needed to make up for the loss of my brother Owen. In the end, though, my decisions were always toxic.
        Toxic to him.
Toxic to Owen.
        Toxic to everyone.
“No, I don’t love you.”
Those were the last words he heard as he turned and walked away.
My heart tightened in my chest as the words replayed over and over again that afternoon. A record skipping that I just couldn’t turn off.
Then the phone rang.
Three words were uttered.
Three words that changed my life.
The phone slipped from my trembling hand, and I dropped to the floor.
I couldn’t swallow. I couldn’t scream.
Cemented in place.
My shoulders curled in, and I clutched my stomach through dry heaves.
I’d lost my soul mate, and now I’d lost my future.
Everything I’d worked for crumbled, and it all no longer mattered.

Laura's Review:

First off, it is so difficult to find a new concept in the book world, I LOVE that authors are stepping up the game and mixing media  - like Colleen Hoover has done with music, Ava Harrison has done with photos Instagram. And Europe provides such the perfect backdrops to tell her story, too! There was so much I loved about this book - the journey, self-discovery, redemption - and of course, a swoon-worthy guy who was almost too perfect. I only wish we weren't kept in the dark for so long about what set off the whole journey to begin with because it prevented me from fully investing in what is otherwise a beautiful romance.

New York's Finest #3
Lauren Layne
Releasing on March 29th, 2016
Forever: Grand Central

Vincent knows he's not the most charming of the Moretti brothers. He prefers brooding to flirting, reading to talking, and he sure as hell isn't about to give into his mother's insistence that he 'settle down with a nice girl.' Luckily, Vincent's gig as one of the NYPD's top homicide detectives keeps him busy. As does his long-time partner, Jill Henley–a tough-as-nails cop with the face of an angel and smart mouth that makes Vincent crazy in all the worst ways.

After six years of working the homicide beat with the tight-lipped Vincent Moretti, Jill figure she knows him better than anyone. Which is not at all. But when their most recent case points to a potential serial-killer situation, the higher-ups send them on a rare undercover mission to a place no NYPD officer dares go: the Upper Eastside.

Now the bureau's most antagonistic set of partners is posing as Mr. and Mrs. Brooks of Park Avenue. Spending 24/7 in the suspect's territory brings them closer and closer to their killer . . . and closer to each other. Soon Vincent and Jill are playing good cop/bad cop in and out of bed, and Jill's falling hard. But can she convince Vincent to give her a shot as partner in life, as well as at the bureau?

Laura's Review:

Ever since starting this great series, I could not wait to finally get to read Vin and Jill's story. It did not disappoint!
Vincent Moretti - gruff cop on the outside, big lovable mush on the inside, who is loyal to a fault. Has been in love with his partner Jill forever, but too close and too blind to see what's right in front of him -- until she no longer is. And when she comes back to town engaged, he steps back thinking that's what's best for her, that he missed his chance. I loved watching them watch each other and skirt around the elephant in the room until they just couldn't hold back any longer. So much angst! I loved every second of it -- I just wish we got to see a little more of them actually together, but something tells me I might get my wish and that we haven't seen the last of the Moretti clan!

Can she be brave enough to give Hudson a real chance? Will he be bold enough to reveal the man beneath the ink, or will his secrecy doom their connection? Also, WTF is the deal with Verity’s boss?

Tanya's Review:
Fast paced and fun are probably the 2 words that best describe this read. When I heard about this book, 13 authors writing one book, not an anthology but same continuous story I was intrigued, then when I saw the list of authors, I knew it was gonna be a book that I had to experience.
The fact that there were so many authors worked and in some ways it didn't. I honestly can say I could  not predict where the story was going, which is one of the things I loved about this book. Each author wrote  a chapter or two (and each chapter was clearly labeled so the reader could tell which author wrote it) and they got to take it in whatever direction they wanted. It was fun to experience a little of each writer in this story but at the same time I felt like some of it didn't run smoothly together as it might have if only 1 or 2 people wrote the story.
Story had a good mix of mystery , funny & sexy and had me guessing and grinning all throughout the book.
I truly enjoyed the tweets at the end of each chapter, made me just love these 2 characters all the more.

This book is a fun, fast paced read and would recommend it to any romance reader that likes to giggle and is looking for a white knight with tattoos.

Felony Ever After:   3/5 stars

Laura's Review:
This book was so much fun to read!  Like a crazy party game, you definitely didn't know what to expect from one page to the next. It's sexy, it's sweet, it's romantic, it's hilariously funny, and even a bit shocking. Okay, way more than a bit shocking... It is definitely not easy to surprise me, but this one succeeded in making my jaw drop.  It was just a bit disjointed at times from the author hopping, but the editors/authors did a very admirable job keeping the story flowing and easy to read.  I can't wait to see what these ladies think up next!

Felony Ever After: 4/5 stars
