I actually read this one before reading the first book of this series, ONLY FOR YOU. And I'm glad I did, because I might not have picked it up otherwise. Despite the super frustrating nature of Brynn's inflexible attitude toward life, I still managed to really enjoy this romance. And that was all due to the wonderful man that is Will Thatcher. Yes, he also was a bit too stubborn, and I found it a bit difficult to believe that someone with this much confidence would wait so long to express himself, but he was still the best part of the book. My heart ached along with his and I was happy he stood up for himself in the end. I found it weird that the flaky Sophie and stick-in-the-mud Gray from book 1 did an about face and seemed like different people here. But, like I said, I read this one first, so I didn't notice anything was off until reading the first one (which I'll talk about in that review). Overall, a tension-filled romance that will tug at your heartstrings until the last page.
