This book is a complete departure from what I've come to know of Maya Banks. It still had the sexy romance we know she is oh-so-capable of producing, but it also had tons of dark suspense and just a hint of the paranormal. It was a little hard to read because there is a lot of pain and suffering - it felt like Ramie was being tortured at times, but Caleb is such a strong hero, he makes it that much more bearable. This book got my interest from the bang of a start, and kept me reading until the end. Looking forward to the next in this series!

ReplyDeleteIf psychic ability "comes with a price," then I think it would be easy to determine if a so-called psychic was for real or not...if they were able to relate what their "price" was for their ability. I do believe in things unseen as well as seen, and I do not discount that such things as psychic ability do exist, but I prefer to read about such things than witness them firsthand. It's pretty scary to me. So I will continue to live with curiosity about such things and read about them. Thanks for providing stories that make my pulse race! jdh2690@gmail.com
